Abingdon-on-Thames is an ancient wool and agricultural town located in the southern midlands of England, about ten miles south of Oxford.
The objective of the Abingdon Horticultural Society, which was founded in 1885, is to promote the advancement of horticulture generally, and especially among amateur gardeners, by means of talks, demonstrations, shows and otherwise.
The AHS is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society.
Membership of the Society is open to all who live in the Abingdon area.
The next talk will be held on Tuesday 19th March at the Northcourt Centre, Northcourt Road, Abingdon, at 7.30pm. The subject is In Praise of Apples and the speaker is Charlotte Popescu.
Entries for the Spring Show must be sent to the Show Secretary by 3rd April.
