Abingdon-on-Thames is an ancient wool and agricultural town located in the southern midlands of England, about ten miles south of Oxford.
The objective of the Abingdon Horticultural Society, which was founded in 1885, is to promote the advancement of horticulture generally, and especially among amateur gardeners, by means of talks, demonstrations, shows and otherwise.
The AHS is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society.
Membership of the Society is open to all who live in the Abingdon area.
The first talk of the autumn will be held on Tuesday 17th September at the Northcourt Centre. The start time is 7.30pm. The subject is A Labour of Love by Rob Potterton from Pottertons Nursery. Bulbs and alpines will be available to purchase.
